Asthma Statistics of Children
Created by Just Nebulizers, a company which provides nebulizers, humidifiers, and other respiratory care products to those with respiratory problems, this infographic shows the prevalence of childhood asthma, the cost of treating it, and how the condition can affect a child’s education.
One in 10 children are affected by childhood asthma. The condition is the second most prevalent childhood condition, the first being obesity. African Americans are twice as likely to have asthma than Caucasian or Hispanic children. The infographic also explains that the use of a spacer increases drug delivery from an inhaler by 4-6 fold. This is important to address as 85% of patients can bring their asthma under control with education and supervision.
Asthma statistics were pulled from various sources, including Centers for Disease Control (CDC), American Academy of Allergy Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI), and World Health Organization (WHO). For more information on asthma and asthma treatments, please visit justNebulizers.com.
