Avoiding the Pitfalls of Ecommerce

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that about sixty percent of start-ups survive up to three years in the competitive world of business, and only thirty-five percent will make it past their 10th year. When it comes to start-up internet businesses, the failure rate is said to be even higher, with a few studies reporting failure rates as high as ninety percent. Some internet-based businesses even fail as quickly as within the first 120 days of operation. The internet is a booming business, and every quarter it is estimated that $43 million is spent in online shopping alone.

So why are so many ecommerce businesses not making the cut? The following infographic illustrates a few key reasons why most ecommerce businesses fail, outlining everything from poor marketing strategies and lack of direction, to mistakes in website design and lazy customer service. It also provides a handful of essential tips that new business owners can use to ensure sustainable start-up success.

Asons Solicitors Infographic: Mesothelioma

Mesothelioma is a rare form of cancer that primarily affects the external lining of the lung (the pleura) and the lining of the lower digestive tract (the peritoneum.) Unfortunately many cases of Mesothelioma are diagnosed at a later stage of development as the symptoms are usually non specific, and usually appear late in the disease’s development. Advanced stage as symptoms are non specific and appear late in the development of the disease.

Mesothelioma is almost always fatal with most of those affected usually dying within twelve months of diagnosis. Asbestos is responsible for causing the vast majority of Mesothelioma cases in Great Britain.

There are currently about 4 times as many deaths in men as there are in women each year. This is largely a reflection of the fact that past asbestos exposures that caused many of these deaths tended to occur in occupational settings, and in jobs mainly held by men rather than women. Although still caused by asbestos, a minority of currently occurring female deaths are directly attributable to occupational exposures.

The continuing increase in annual Mesothelioma deaths is a consequence of the effect of past exposures and the long latency period of the disease (the time between initial asbestos and the appearance of Mesothelioma) which is typically between 20 to 50 years.

Asons Solicitors suggest that if someone would like to learn more about asbestos related illnesses, or if they would like to better understand the Mesothelioma claims process, that information is available at www.asons.co.uk, or via an expert helpline on 01204 521 133
